Name of Layout Jared's rock

An N-scale 4x4 layout suspended from my garage ceiling. Two mainlines that can be switched so one train can run the entire route as one mainline. All farm and mountain scenery. Layout named "Jared's rock" after my 8 yr. old grandson found a rock he liked during construction and asked if I would include it in the layout scenery. His rock is between the barn and the tree, but for the sake of history I named the entire hill "Jared's rock".
My home is only 1500 sq.ft. so I have no room in the house for a layout. I decided to build a 4x4 layout that I could suspend from my garage ceiling and lower when in use. I used 1x2 under the edges and as bracing across the middle in both directions. I used a portable control panel that I had from an earlier 6x12 layout in a larger home. I rebuilt the panel and made it smaller. All of the track, rolling stock, and most of the scenery were also salvaged from that earlier layout. I'm a telephone tech. so the wiring came easy. I used a 25 pair connector cable as a quick connection device for the control panel.

The mountain in the corner is removable so I can store it separately on a shelf and hoist the layout closer to the ceiling. All of the track switches are controlled by switch motors and the buildings are lighted. I found that twigs from sagebrush make excellent narled looking oak trees, both live and dead. I used the dried berry twigs from nandina bushes to make the pine and poplar trees. The barn, shed, and the dock & rowboat in the pond are all scratch-built. I made the willow tree by the pond from a stock metal armature with regular tree foliage on it, then used green thread which I drug through diluted white glue, then through green ground foam. I then glued each strand to the tree. It took a few hours but looks pretty convincing.

I still have some work to do on the layout such as building a fence all around the scrapyard and adding more junk in there. It's fun to operate and the neighbor kids enjoy watching it. It is also a great draw when we have a garage sale. I have received many complements on it but I sure would like a bigger place so that I can expand a little more. I hope you enjoy the pictures.
